Pamela Ramey-Tatum

I have a Master’s Degree is in English Literature and my first career, which I loved, was teaching English at university and community college. I also studied drama and art and still love to create art, mostly painting with watercolor, acrylic and oils. I studied Kundalini yoga at the Baba Siri Chand Ashram in Orlando, Florida, for several years and had the blessed fortune of studying with and knowing Yogi Bhajan, Master of White Tantric Yoga, personally. In fall of 1999, Yogi Bhajan sent me to Amritsar, India, to serve as Academic Director and English, drama and yoga teacher at his boarding school, Miri Piri Academy. It’s an international boarding school for Sikh students. It was the most challenging year of my life, but also one of the most incredible and transformative.

Following India, I traveled abroad with a friend for another year to France, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Turkey, Israel, and Egypt. I taught English in Krakow, Poland. We went to the death camps Auschwitz and Birkenau, and the cemetery in Warsaw. I studied WWII history and walked streets where atrocities occurred, where my friend had relatives who were shot in the streets. There was still so much painful energy in the camps and cemeteries. It was a profoundly deep experience but almost too much pain for my soul to bear.

In Turkey, for a lighter experience, we started in Istanbul and traveled down the western coast, visiting beach towns. We visited the in Ephesus, met a wonderful Kurdish family in Selcuk with whom we shared meals and songs. We bicycled to Mt. Olympus, a pristine beach village with a mountain through it and a pine forest, where one can “see” the gods and goddesses, the beautiful Aphrodite and imagine the interactions between gods and mortals. We also biked up to the fires of Chimeras, the eternal Flame.

In Israel, we visited a kibbutz, spent about a month in Jerusalem, visiting all the sacred sites. The most amazing thing in Jerusalem, particularly the Old City of Jerusalem, is the many different ethnic and religious groups that are in this city together, generally quite peacefully and respectfully. We traveled to amazingly beautiful areas in the North in Galilee and Golan. We had tea with a Palestinian family and dined with a family of Hasidic Jews. What an incredibly beautiful country.

We spent a few amazing weeks in the Sinai, climbed Mt. Sinai at 2am, arriving at the top at for a spectacular sunrise. Then we walked down the 3750 steps of repentance, which were laid by a monk as a form of repentance.

In Dahab, one of my favorite places, I got my scuba certification and spent a week on a live-aboard in Sharm El Shek, diving in the wild waters of the Red Sea. We also visited the pyramids in Egypt and the Cairo museum.

Once back in Orlando, I studied with the Field Center for three years which opened me more deeply to the Consciousness as Cause work. During this time, I opened Edgewater Yoga & Arts studio and taught Kundalini yoga, sacred sex, and authentic movement and displayed art of local artists. What an amazing experience to bring together dancers, musicians and artists at the events there. Shortly after closing the studio, I began working with my husband, continuing to teach yoga and other courses at his practice, the Optimal Health & Learning Center in Winter Park. I received my coaching certification through Coach Training Alliance, but all my coaching is steeped in the Law of Attraction/Consciousness as Cause model. Besides coaching, I developed Empowering the Goddess courses, a series of courses, workshops and retreats for women. I also teach Law of Attraction courses and workshops since it’s the essence of my philosophy and to me is the most empowering work there is available.
