Questions
About Living from the Heart, Part I
In
my last ezine I wrote about the importance of learning to
shift from a negative to positive state by shifting out of the
third chakra, the gut, and into the fourth chakra, the heart. I
received two excellent questions about this topic, which I
will answer in two separate ezines, (the next to come out in a
week rather than the usual two). So the first question:
"Isn't it normal to be upset when things happen
that we don't like?"
Well, the short answer is yes, but that needs clarification. Children
get upset virtually anytime things don't go the way they want,
or if they are hungry, tired, or told "no." As
adults, it is still "normal," but normal only in the
sense that most people go into the third chakra- feeling
upset, angry or depressed-when things happen that they don't
like. As Law of Attraction (LOA) students
know, paying attention to our emotions is a good way to gauge
our alignment. Anytime we're feeling
something we want, we're in alignment. Anytime
we're feeling what we don't want, we are contradicted.
And we know that these feelings-good or bad-are about
our inner stance rather than outer conditions.
An important note about negative emotions: they are not always
unwanted. Feeling grief after the death of
a loved one, for example, is a natural emotion that, if not
resisted, will pass just as naturally. It's when we are
feeling upset or hurt when we don't want to that we are in
contradiction. These unwanted feelings
inform us that we're believing something that needs to be
reframed or that we've experienced something we need healing
around. If we do the healing, we can
reprogram our subconscious to believe something different. So
using the LOA principles, we recognize that our upset is about
ourselves; it's an invitation to self-discovery, not a reason
to blame or feel victimized. So it is our
choice to be "normal" or to live in a way that
honors our highest Self and allows us to heal ourselves so
that we can raise our consciousness.
Ultimately, the gift of learning to shift back to the heart is
the gift of being conscious. It allows us
to break the habit of going to a negative place every time
something happens that we don't like, or at least not get
stuck in the negativity. We can let it go
and shift back to the heart, the place where we can heal and a
much more powerful and peaceful place to live.
